Rhodri welcomes All Wales Convention report 18/11/2009
The Welsh Assembly Government has welcomed today’s publication of the report of the All Wales Convention.
First Minister Rhodri Morgan said: “I very much welcome the publication of the report of the All Wales Convention, and I am grateful to Sir Emyr Jones Parry, his secretariat and the other members of the Convention for the important work they have carried out. I would also like to thank all members of the public who took part in the public participation sessions organised by the Convention throughout Wales.
"The report will now be considered by the Welsh Assembly Government and I will make a full statement to the Assembly next week."
Deputy First Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones said: “The Convention has done an excellent job in engaging widely with people across Wales in order to raise awareness of the current arrangements for devolved government and to facilitate a thorough consultation on the issue of primary law making powers.
"We will now consider the findings of the report and give more detailed thought to the timing of a referendum in line with our One Wales commitment.â€
