Penlan Leisure Centre closed with roof damage

18/11/2009

Swansea's Penlan Leisure Centre has been temporarily closed because of roof damage caused by severe overnight weather.

Swansea Council officers are on site to investigate the damage and determine what remedial works need to take place.

The leisure centre is now closed to members of the public until further notice.

Neighbouring Ysgol Bryntawe will also be closed from noon today (Wednesday November 18) and tomorrow (Thursday November 19) as a precaution.

Leisure centre users and Active Swansea members can use other facilities such as Morriston Leisure Centre in the meantime.

Have a look at www.activeswansea.com for details of alternative Active Swansea community leisure centres across Swansea.

People can also check www.swansea.gov.uk for updates.
