Bruce Springsteen in Cardiff

12/6/2008

Fifty thousand people will be heading to Cardiff for the Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band concert in the Millennium Stadium on Saturday

Cardiff Council is recommending visitors plan their journeys in advance. The best way to travel into the city centre is with public transport and coach wherever possible.

If you do bring your car into the city, you can ease worries over congestion and parking costs by car sharing and using the park and ride service.

Park and ride will be accessed from J33 of the M4 - follow the signage to the site at the time of your arrival. The cost of park and ride is 10 pounds per car. They are open from 9am with the last bus leaving the pick up point at 11.30pm and the car park closing at midnight. Coaches will leave the M4 at J32 and park in the civic centre.

Between 5.30pm until 7pm there will be a small road closure of Westgate Street. Following the concert traffic on St. Mary Street may be held back by the police and traffic wardens, depending on the size of the crowd dispersing from the Millennium Stadium.
