Have your say on inland waterways 18/11/2009
Members of the public are invited to have their say on Wales’s inland water when the Sustainability Committee Chair goes on the road this week.
The National Assembly for Wales bus will be visiting Betws-y-Coed, Wrexham, Carmarthen and Merthyr Tydfil on Friday 20 November and Saturday 21.
Committee chair Mick Bates AM will be on board at each location to listen to evidence. He will be joined by fellow committee member Brynle Williams AM in Betws-y-Coed, and Lesley Griffiths AM in Wrexham, before moving on to Carmarthen and Merthyr Tydfil.
Visitors on those days will be able to record video evidence for the Committee to consider as part of the inquiry.
Chair of the Committee Mick Bates AM said: “We have been overwhelmed at the amount of written evidence we have received from people wanting to have their say on this issue.â€
“It seemed the best idea was to go out and meet as many people as possible face-to-face. Clearly there is a lot of feeling about how our inland water should be used and protected and we have received so many good points to consider already.â€
“I would urge anyone who has an interest in our inland waterways to visit us. I am looking forward to hearing many more views.â€
