Swansea help for dyslexia 21/2/2008
The British Dyslexia Association is running a half day workshop in Swansea on March 8 to help parents of children with illness.
The half day workshop will teach parents:
The five areas where they can make a real difference in their child's life, what schools are trying to do and help parents understand how school's can teach their children most effectively and to learn what their child is entitled to by law.
The course is interactive and highly practical. Taught by experienced trainers who are able to empathise with parents' situations and suggest positive ways forward.
Vicki McNicol, Director of Development at the BDA, said: "These courses have been set up in response to requests from parents who want practical support for their dyslexic children. We run them across the country and they have been hugely popular
so far.
"The course will allay some of the worries that parents of dyslexic children experience and they will leave with a number of methods to make a difference in their child's life.`"
The course is being held on 8 March at The Guildhall, Swansea, SA1 4PE.The half day course starts at 9:45am and finishes at 12:45pm.
Price for the workshop is £35, a book covering the content of the workshop isavailable for an additional £15.
