Swine flu deaths rise to eight in Wales

The figures for swine flu' deaths rose to 8 in Wales, it was reported by the Welsh Assembly Government today. On November 3 , there were 75 clinically diagnosed patients in hospital in Wales in connection with swine flu, 16 of whom were in critical care.

The NPHS influenza surveillance scheme, which records reports of diagnoses of flu from more than 300 GP practices across Wales, shows that the increase in the rate of influenza consultations has stalled over the last week. of the outbreak.
As at midday on 4 November, of the laboratory confirmed cases, a total of 251 had been admitted to hospital since the start of the outbreak.
