Two of snooker's greatest players make a return to Newport as the 2008 PartyPoker.com Premier League snooker competition comes to Newport Centre on Thursday November 6.

Seven times World Champion Stephen Hendry and six times World Champion Steve Davis face each other over the best of six frames in a clash of the legends, while Joe Perry and Ding Junhui contest the second match.

Davis and Hendry have enjoyed many successful visits to Newport, home for many years of the Welsh Open.

Davis was a winner there in 1994 and 1995 while Hendry has three Welsh titles to his name having lifted the trophy in 1992, 1997 and 2003.

Now entering its 23rd season, the Premier League Snooker is the world's only major snooker tournament played to a league format and plays out on Thursday nights, live on Sky Sports across the UK.

Both matches are over six frames and there is two points for a win and a point for a 3-all draw and following the round robin section of play, the top four players moved forward to the big money play-offs in December.
