Winning start for Sousa 18/7/2009
Swansea City started their pre-season campaign under new manager Paulo Sousa today with a convincing 3-1 win over Steve McClaren’s Dutch Champions League qualifiers FC Twente before 7,000 spectators at the Liberty Stadium..
Swans took the lead through substitute Gorka Pintado after the interval, Nikita Rukavytsya equalised, but the Swans made the result safe with goals from 17-year-old Casey Thomas and a penalty by Pintado.
