Big night as Swans and Bluebirds battle for promotion 16/3/2010
Fourth-placed Swansea City and sixth-placed Cardiff City face tough contests tonight as they contend for promotion to the Premier League.
Swans are at home to second-placed West Brom (7.45) and the game matches the highest scoring team in the Championship against the tightest defence.
Albion, five points ahead of of third-placed Nottingham Forest, have scored 71 goals in 36 league games and Swansea have conceded only 23.
But the Swans won 1-0 at The Hawthorns earlier in the season.
Swansea captain Garry Monk and Nathan Dyer return to the squad after injury and Shefki Kuqi could be back after being rested as a precaution due to an ankle injury in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday. Still out with injuries are Andrea Orlandi, Albert Serran, Ferrie Bodde and Joe Allen.
Cardiff manager Dave Jones, speaking ahead of his side’s visit to Coventry City - their third away match in eight days - said, "We're still up there, we're still fighting so we must have done something right along the way. All the so-called experts know how they think it should be done and how we should go about it, but we're still there, whether it be by luck or by sheer grit and determination.
"This is a big, big month for us, and we must make sure we get as many as we can fit and we get back to winning ways, home and away. If we can find that sharpness, and find it quickly, then we'll fly."
