Cardiff to Egypt flights start this week

2/11/2004

Holidaymakers from South Wales and the South West will soon be able to fly to the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, on a new winter charter service from Cardiff International Airport.

Tour operator Thomson Holidays is launching the new winter service from November 2005, and, using a Boeing 757, will be flying 235 passengers every week to Sharm el Sheikh, with prices starting at £285 per person.

Situated between the Red Sea’s Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba, Sharm el Sheikh is located on the east shore at the southernmost tip of the Sinai Peninsula and has rapidly developed over the last ten years into a popular tourist destination.

Cardiff International Airport’s Sales & Marketing Manager Vincent Rey explains, “This is a very exciting new destination to add to our growing number of services. I believe that Sharm el Sheikh will appeal to travellers looking for something different which is competitively priced and I am confident it will prove a great success.

The route will be in operation every Thursday from 3 November 2005 to 20 April 2006.

For more information call Thomson Holidays on 0870 165 0079.
