Detectives in Swansea are appealing for witnesses following a false imprisonment and sexual assault which happened at the Griffith John Street flats in the Brynmelyn area of the city.The incident occurred sometime between 5am and 7am on Sunday 5th of May 2013.
Officers believe that following the attack the 25 year old female victim was seen trying to flag down vehicles on Llangyfelach Road outside the Premier Store in Dyfatty Street at about 6:45am.
The victim who was extremely distressed, stopped a silver car which has been described as a people carrier, and contained a male and two females, it later conveyed her to the Swansea Central Police Station via Orchard Street.
A 24 year old male has been arrested in connection with the matter.
Detective Constable Paul Harry of Swansea Central CID said: “This was an extremely upsetting and distressing experience for this young lady.”
“We urgently need to trace the occupants of a silver 5 seater vehicle, who we believe to be a male and two females, which stopped, picked up the victim and took her to the station just before 7am.”
“These people are critical to the investigation and could well be holding some vital information.”
“I am appealing to anyone who can recall travelling in a silver coloured vehicle in the Griffith John Street area during the early hours of Sunday 5th May and picked up a woman and later took her to the Central Police station to come forward”
