Cardiff South Wales Police has released a statement following an Independent Police Complaints Commission investigation into the management of a pursuit prior to the death of Kyle Griffith in Cardiff in January 2012
"Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Kyle Griffith who died in such tragic circumstances in January 2012.
"The IPCC acknowledges that responsibility for Kyle’s death lies firmly with Steven Freye who was convicted of murder and sentenced to a minimum of 13 years in prison following a thorough investigation by South Wales Police.
"The force has already conducted a review of its management of police pursuits and robust procedures are in place to deal with such challenging and complex incidents. We ensure that our staff undergo regular refresher training in this area."
