A new company has been formed to foster the talents of up and coming Welsh bands.
Debs Prowse, editor of Wales' only bilingual music magazine Welsh Bands Weekly, has joined with the creator of online Welsh gig guide Ffarout.com, Marc Colclough to form Ffarout!, a band management and promotions company that aims to promote Welsh music within and outside Wales.
The first two acts they will work with are established and respected former Tystion rapper Gruff Meredith, aka MC Mabon, and Porthmadog hopefuls Pep Le Pew.
Prows and Colclough say they took the decision after becoming frustrated at the difficulty talented Welsh bands had in achieving success outside Wales.
The initial plan was to run a monthly Welsh bands night at a North Wales venue, but that plan eventually evolved into a dream to be able to not only promote Welsh bands in one pub in one town, but help talented bands gain recognition across the UK.
MC Mabon and Pep Le Pew will share a bill for the first time at this year's Eisteddfod Genedlaethol, which is being held in Denbigh in early August. The gig will take place at Y Venue, Rhuthin, on 9 August with support from Dau Gefn.
Pep Le Pewwill also support at legendary Welsh dance band Diffiniad's last ever gig at Maes B, also at the Eisteddfod, on 10 August.
